Winnie and I just returned from ten days of outreach to the poorest of the poor in Nicaragua. We took 49 “new wine missionaries” from North America with us, and fed about 10,000 hot Christmas meals during our daily joy-filled outreaches where we literally saw hundreds of salvations and many precious healings on a daily basis.

We first started traveling to Nicaragua after we met Arturo Sanchez and his wife Maria in Toronto, Canada. We made a supernatural connection with the Nicaraguan couple and after one week of drinking the new wine at revival meetings together, Arturo invited us to come to Nicaragua with them. This is now our fourth year in relationship with them.

God works in mysterious ways because Nicaragua is formerly a communist nation, the same as Bulgaria, my native land. Before he got saved, Arturo was training under Fidel Castro to become a terrorist against the United States. Instead, he got radically saved, and now all that he can do is preach the gospel and love and take care of orphans - ha! ha!

Arturo and his wife Maria, along with their two amazing sons, were an incredible blessing to everyone who went on the trip. Their heart for the orphans is very evident. Their whole church showers those kids with love and they are very happy and well-cared for. We were very impressed with the work that is going on in Nicaragua and the hospitality shown by Pastor Arturo and his family. A special thanks to the many other pastors and volunteers who made this trip possible.

We would like to share with you the travel journal that Amy Brink compiled during the trip:
