Fresh Outpouring in Florida Church

For the past six weeks, evangelists Georgian and Winnie Banov have held protracted revival meetings at Praise Cathedral Church of God in St. Petersburg, FL. The Church of God, one of the oldest Pentecostal denominations in the US may be in for a fresh touch from the Holy Spirit’s River of blessing.

For the past six weeks, evangelists Georgian and Winnie Banov have held protracted revival meetings at Praise Cathedral Church of God in St. Petersburg, FL. The Church of God, one of the oldest Pentecostal denominations in the US may be in for a fresh touch from the Holy Spirit’s River of blessing. Georgian Banov prophesied over the pastor of the church, Michael Thomas, kneeling at his feet as though he were the prince in the Cinderella story.

“I saw myself putting the glass shoe on the pastor’s foot, as I exclaimed, ‘It fits. You are the one. In spite of years of rejection, the Lord has sent His Spirit to find you and re-establish you as part of His precious bride and include your church and your fellow ministers from your denomination in this last day revival,’” Banov told Spread the Fire.

A series of signs and wonders are unfolding in this church and the revival is spilling over into the schools and the surrounding community, attracting both believers and unbelievers to the meetings.

One woman who managed two beach resort motels and who hadn’t been to church in years suddenly decided to attend services at the Church of God. Touched by the strong sense of the presence of the Lord, she rededicated her life to Christ and brought her family and several of her staff maids to the evening service.

One by one, the maids responded to the altar call that night and gave their hearts to Jesus. Miracles then began to break out among the entire group of hotel employees as they began to attend the meetings.

A woman “felt” the Lord place a heavy object on her chest and since that moment has not experienced the desire to smoke.

Another one of the hotel maids brought her daughter and her son-in-law who were both saved.

An eleven-year-old daughter of another maid stood up to receive prayer for her dental work. As others testified that night to receiving dental miracles, the little girl said, “The Lord filled all my cavities and turned my old fillings into brand new teeth.” The following day the mother obtained the dental records that verified a miracle had taken place in her mouth.

During the offering one night, a man in his 50’s interrupted the service running down to the altar pleading for prayer for salvation.

A nineteen-year-old teenage girl with a large pin in her tongue who had never been to church before came to the meetings because her mother was punishing her for her bad behavior. As she heard the contemporary-sounding music and saw the group of teenagers shaking violently under the power of God, she fell under conviction and gave her life to the Lord. Her parents are amazed at the radical change in her behavior.

Another nine-year-old girl saw a vision of a giant trumpet with two large hoops kept under a glass lid. Jesus came to her in her vision and told her that this is the trumpet which will be used to announce His Second Coming.

The Banovs have committed themselves to remaining at this church as long as the Holy Spirit is moving there with power.
